Issue to track work for publishing a new release of odo at the end of the Sprint.

Notes:

  • A draft PR will be generated by the @github-actions bot when a new GitHub Release is created (it can be a pre-release). This PR will contain all the necessary changes (build/VERSION, blog post, release notes, ...).
    • Feel free to review and adjust the content
    • Merge this PR once the release binaries are available on the Content Gateway

We have been using Go 1.18 for releases. 1.20 was released on 1st Feb. This means that 1.18 is no longer supported and won't get future security fixes.

These releases should be built with 1.19 or 1.20

As discussed today, we'll do this release using Go 1.18 because we did not get a timely response from the internal release team, and Go >= 1.19 does not seem available on the build platform.
So, once either Go 1.19 (or Go 1.20) is available, we'll hopefully be able to use it for the v3.8.0 instead (#6414).
