RabbitMQ 3.9.0-rc.2 released. Feedback welcome before 3.9.0 final is released.

We intend to release RabbitMQ 3.9.0 on 26 July 2021. While we have been testing it internally for months, with production-like workloads, we need your help to check that it is as stable and reliable as we believe it is.

This is the timeline that we have to work together on making 3.9.0 the best release for you:

We received some good feedback on this in the context of RabbitMQ Summit, this topic specifically.

In the interest of keeping these conversations in a single place, somewhere that is publicly visible to the community, and accessible to everyone that is part of the RabbitMQ team, I am moving those two threads here:

@motmot80 Full AMQP v1.0 support for quorum queues and .NET client library for streams ;)

@adamncasey It looks like the stream protocol handshake has improved on AMQP 0.9.1 in that the client doesn't send two frames in a row anymore, but it looks like it's 5 (?) round trips before the client can get to business - could the Open/Tune/SaslAuthenticate steps get merged?

@motmot80 Just got a quick look at RC1. So I got no load testing infos about startup times and throughput in our scenarios. But +50% performance sounds super awesome. Hopefully this is achieved without using more RAM. We'll try out with the official release.

RabbitMQ 3.9.0-rc.2 is now available for community feedback: https://github.com/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server/releases/tag/v3.9.0-rc.2 . We are working on getting the official Docker image updated to rc.2.

Our intention is to ship the final version of RabbitMQ 3.9.0 on the 26th of July.

This is a good time to try out 3.9.0 pre-release and let us know if there is anything which doesn't work as expected for you.
