I have NickelMenu installed on my Kobo Libra 2. I had misunderstood that my partner also wanted it on their Kobo Libra 2, they did NOT...

Whey they found out I had installed it on their's they wanted to get rid of it. For some reason the hidden .adds folder (to add the 'uninstall' file) was not showing, so they figured that a factory reset would also do the trick. It did NOT...

So now we are stuck with a factory reset Kobo Libra 2 that still has NickelMenu installed, and the listed steps to uninstall it ('uninstall' file and rebooting it within 20 seconds) don't work.

What else can we try?

Try creating the required folders yourself. it also depends on what device is interfacing with it, as Chromebooks/Linux devices make folders that start with . hidden, while ones like windows don't.
I also have a Libra 2, so here's the path to NM that I have: KOBOeReader/.adds/nm or

@sebcat45 is correct. I've been meaning to add a default uninstall item when the menu is empty, but I haven't got around to doing it yet.

A default uninstall item when the menu is empty would be a practical solution 👍

We finally managed to deinstall by creating the .adds and nm folders. Thanks for the suggestion @sebcat45

@pgaskin A way to make it a bit easier for now is to make it so you add the uninstall file to the root (no messing with hidden/missing files), but you name it uninstall_nm instead. (so it doesn't uninstall something else)
