Loading offline TIFF imagery

Hello there. Recently I've tried to load offline world.tif file from data folder (in the main repo). But I got this error:

[rocky info] GDAL says: world.tif: .../build/install/data/world/world.tif:JPEG compression support is not configured (error 1)
[rocky info] GDAL says: world.tif: Cannot open TIFF file due to missing codec JPEG. (error 1)

I have GDAL installed with jpeg support (vcpkg output):

$ ./vcpkg.exe install gdal[core,jpeg]:x64-windows
Computing installation plan...

The package GDAL provides CMake targets:

    find_package(GDAL CONFIG REQUIRED)
    target_link_libraries(main PRIVATE GDAL::GDAL)

What could be possibly wrong with my build? Thanks a lot in advance! Will be glad to read all suggestions.

Just a wild guess, but perhaps try installing gdal[tools] and/or adding vcpkg_installed\x64-windows\tools\gdal to your path

No success. I have jpeg62.dll installed and gdal has this library in Dependencies (it is in PATH). However, I didn't manage to make this work :(

What happens if you install gdalinfo and run it on the tif file?
(gdalinfo is part of gdal[tools])

Here is the output:

$ ./gdalinfo.exe --formats | grep -i jpeg
  JPEG -raster- (rwv): JPEG JFIF (*.jpg, *.jpeg)
  JP2OpenJPEG -raster,vector- (rwv): JPEG-2000 driver based on JP2OpenJPEG library (*.jp2, *.j2k)

Hm... I created simple Python script:

from PIL import Image

img = Image.open('world.tif')
img.save('world_uncompressed.tif', compression='none')

Now gdal_info works but tiles not being rendered.

I grabbed the newest vcpkg this morning. gdalinfo and our software have no problem reading the file.

Maybe a clean vcpkg build/install will clear it up. Make sure you are not copying DLLs around (never do that) or have multiple versions of GDAL and its dependencies in your PATH. Beyond that I don't have anything else to recommend unfortunately!
