502 bad gateway / nginx

Today Labs site has been kinda jumpy and by now it's giving 502 error :-(
Drupal.org says this about 502: https://drupal.org/node/1298882

Is there an after-fest rush on the site? was going to check but can't access any more.

Now it's back and I don't know if it was just my issue or what (some analyzing services said that objectively the page should be up and running). dblog shows no activity between 19:56 and 23:03.

Again bad gateway 502 today, atm the whole site; James reports 502 on http://labs.ouishare.net/events/ouishare-labs-hacks-berlin 16:53 today (that is ~7 hours ago)

I am not a Drupal expert. I researched this problem by going to Google and typing in 'drupal nginx 502', and the results seem to point to memory issues, at least as a first thing to check

Again documenting 502 since a few hours at least.
