Trying to apply for an education account but the application thinks I'm a student instead of a teacher

Hi everyone,

I am trying to apply for the education account. I am a researcher at a UK university. I already have a Github account with my university email. When I click to join Github education it asks for proof of my student status and also proof of why I am not on campus (I am currently travelling). I assume being asked for proof of student status means it is trying to make me apply for a student account not teacher. How do I change this?

Be sure to check the "Teacher" option before submitting your application.

When I click the link it goes straight to ‘ Upload proof of your academic status’. I can’t seem to find a way to go back to the beginning of the application

I see @carlalwhite, probably since you've started an application request you can't go back now. I suggest you to contact support by opening a ticket here, select "Other" and explain your issue.
