In the past using GitHub, I have been able to deploy my latest repo version via Pages. I do not recall if my class administrator set up all of our domains or if I created my own. I believe my domain name is tonymagr.github.io. It is the URL prefix of all my deployed repos, and they all still work.
I clicked "Add a domain" green button and in the prompt field to add a domain name, I entered my existing name tonymagr.github.io, and I get the message Domain cannot end with github.io.
I tried making up a new personal domain name with a .com suffix (which I never had to do before), and I get further in the UI, but ultimately I am supposed to create a TXT file in my domain hosting service. There are pay and no-pay options for hosting services, but I did not want to change my domain name (and possibly my old web app URLs) to something other than tonymagr.github.io.
Is there a straightforward GitHub setting or procedure to bring the Pages deployment capability back for me, and for it to recognize tonymagr.github.io as my domain?

Hello,
In the past using GitHub, I have been able to deploy my latest repo version via Pages. I do not recall if my class administrator set up all of our domains or if I created my own. I believe my domain name is tonymagr.github.io. It is the URL prefix of all my deployed repos, and they all still work.

Is there a straightforward GitHub setting or procedure to bring the Pages deployment capability back for me, and for it to recognize tonymagr.github.io as my domain?
