I have two outlook.com accounts registered that behave differently with this issue.

Personal account: works as an Outlook.Com registration in account setup ( i.e. Exchange) this has an incorrect flat folder structure after syncing.

Professional account: would only work registered via IMAP, this has a correctly nested folder structure after syncing.

I'm also not getting nested folders. I'm currently connected to an exchange server. The only nested folders I get are the folders that are nested under other folders under my Inbox.
