I have Java 1.8 on OSX 10.9.5. When I launch DIYLC it says I need a Java SE 6
runtime and offers to install one for me. But I don't want to alter my Java
setup, it's temperamental on the Mac at the best of times. Should DIYLC run
under Java 1.8? Is there anything I need to do to enable it? Thanks, Geoff

You mean in System Preference/Security & Privacy/"Allow apps from anywhere"?
Yes, I did enable that. Are there any logs files, etc. I can look at/send?
In case it helps, when I run java -version this is what I get:
java version "1.8.0_40"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_40-b27)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.40-b25, mixed mode)
