Many users that I work together with on Nextcloud only opens the webapp a few times each month, and don't have the Talk app installed on their phones. This means that messages sent from Talk is often missed for several days/weeks.
It would be nice if Talk could send an e-mail if a messages is left unread for a set amout of time.
Describe the solution you'd like
In the Activities Settings in Nextcloud, add a option that you should receive a e-mail if a messages in Talk is unread for X amout of hours/days.

I think that has to be enough.
Hi @nickvergessen
I was looking for this very feature. I configured the option in that issue to send e-mails after 1 hour on my Nextcloud instance (version 26).
That does not solve the problem, unfortunately. Because with this option you get an e-mail from any Nextcloud notification. So also for things like a calendar entry. That becomes unusable very quickly.
What would be amazing would be a notification just for new Talk messages. A good standard value would be something like 1 hour.
Or if it's not too complex, something like immediately/1 Minute when you get a message and you don't have the Talk app open. Or if you have the app open but are in a different channel or whatever, a collection of messages after 1 to 3 hours.
This way you could still stay in the loop of discussions happening in Nextcloud Talk, without being bombarded by unnecessary e-mails.
Attached are two examples of the Mails that Slack is sending out:
