Looks like the email server responds weirdly: Swift_TransportException: Expected response code 220 but got code "", with message ""

Experiencing the same problem, specifically with the register app. Test emails send fine.

Hi! Am wondering if someone can help me with the email client (app). I am running Nextcloud from my own server. I am Not using NC as a file sharing cloud at all. I am finding it very hard to change, add scripts or "fix" problems.
I installed the register app for one reason - to enable login. This since I can't seem to disable the "login frontend and the upload files function" and keep it public or just let the user register without all super defense. On the "register app" I have filled in all info about my mail server (server the same as the website server) but no good. After spending hours trying to fix recurring red marked "error", I am totally lost, can you help me?

I reinstalled NC, downloaded and enabled the "register app". This time I could verify the email settings. Still no users can register. I found that there seems to be a bug with CSRF token. However searching forums, I can not really find the right place for the token in the files. I was led to config.php but where to enter 'csrf.disabled' => true',?
I am puzzled why being able to register are not a priority!

Please keep in mind that theses errors are from your mail service telling you that it was not possible to send a message. Most of the time this is a configuration problem and not an issue with nextcloud.
