Github now supports package distribution - maybe worth considering?

I can see the main two benefits of this being:

1. Having our registry package on the same platform as our code
2. Being able to use GitHub actions to publish new versions of the library.

These seem quite interesting, but for the sake of being decisive on our issues, I think they may not be critically important focus areas for the library at this time. Please feel free to reopen if you have some alternative thoughts to share!
