Android crashes/rollback every time an update is applied

Steps to Reproduce

1. I have an bare expo project, fully installed codepush and it is working fine in iOS
2. I am using this in my index.js:

3. Every update attempt in Android fails, iOS has no issues.

Expected Behavior

What you expected to happen?
I expect the update to apply properly

Actual Behavior

What actually happens?
I get the following exception, the app crashes, and the update is rolled back

Reproducible Demo

• Download https://github.com/microsoft/react-native-code-push/archive/master.zip and unzip. From Examples folder run node create-app.js appName [email protected] [email protected] command to generate plain CodePushified React Native app. Please see description on top of create-app.js file content if needed
• If you can't reproduce the bug on it, provide us as much info as possible about your project

Environment

• react-native-code-push version: 8.1.0
• react-native version: 0.72.1
• iOS/Android/Windows version: Android 12
• Does this reproduce on a debug build or release build? All
• Does this reproduce on a simulator, or only on a physical device? Physical Device

me too exact same issue only in android, Ios works fine.

I ended up abandoning code push and I implemented Expo EAS Updates. If you have expo in your app it appears there is a conflict with codepush. I wish you the best of luck!

I'm closing this issue because iit's an exception from expo's side
