Repro Steps

I am getting this same error as the closed issue: #389

The error is triggered by running 'du' on any directory or trying to remove a directory with 'rm -rf'

Expected Behavior

List of files or removal of directory and subdirectories.

Actual Behavior

du: WARNING: Circular directory structure.
This almost certainly means that you have a corrupted file system.
NOTIFY YOUR SYSTEM MANAGER.
The following directory is part of the cycle:
  ./old

Diagnostic Logs

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling WSL, but the problem persists. It happens both with WSL1 and WSL2.
