As the subject suggests I would like to see a selectable attract.cfg file option. This request is similar to request #436 but for attract.cfg instead of layout.nut.

I currently use many different attract.cfg files and manually rename them for various reasons. If AM could allow us to choose one and then reload the settings (or the entire program) it would be very helpful.

Reasons to toggle attract.cfg files include:

  • complete layout/theme changes across all emulators/systems/platforms
  • complete controller configurations changes for different controllers or differnent button/key assignments needed for certain layouts/theme
  • different configuration for using different emulators (all retroarch vs. all mame vs. all stand alone emulators vs. RocketLauncher)
  • different filter settings across all platforms
  • easy toggle from traditional emulator setup to subfolder type setup (Displays Menu/Main Menu = Arcade, Computers, Consoles, Hand Held, etc.)

The options are endless and this would bring AM flexibility to the next level (if it isn't there already).

Thanks for your consideration.

Hi, this would be a great feature! There are many scenarios when this would be super useful. For instance I would setup a config for the kids with only a display with their favourite games. And when you make a pre-configured theme giving the users the option to change between themes based on 4:3 aspect ratio or 16:9 AR or different looks like "dark" or "light" would be much easier with this feature.

Thanks for all your hard work :)
