We're using singularity / apptainer on most HPC centres. As I needed a CDFTOOLS operator today, I've created a Docker image definition and some snippet for converting this to a Singularity / Apptainer file here: https://github.com/willirath/cdftools_container

Maybe this is useful for others as well.
