What kind of matchmaking algorithm were you thinking of exactly?
I mean, the ELO rating system should sort this out itself by ordering players by their relative skill level.
How would the match history be taken into account when deciding which opponents are the most "suitable"?
Does the rating system take into account how many games a player has played against certain opponents? I'm afraid that the current ladder system does not encourage enough playing against "unfamiliar opponents".
This feature could recommend suitable opponents based on one's current score and match history.
