#12949 rewrites .kvk during package compile in order to make the font metadata match what is in the package info. We should verify that changes to the font metadata on keymanapp/keyboards with the 18.0.173-alpha or later compiler is not going to give us any nasty surprises, comparing before-and-after on .kvk font metadata from the packages.
