Enchanting Black Pearl Necklace

Each time I enchant my Black Pearl Necklace made with golden thread, the enchant previously on it disappears. I am enchanting pearls, combing them in a crafting grid, and reworking them. So far I have been told this should work and has worked for rings.

Not all enchants will be added, as there is a chance for them to fail. It says something along those lines in the book. Could you teset a bit more and make sure it wasn't just unlucky?

Oh I tested a good 30+ pearls and had other people try it too and we all had the same problem. Even the admins were stumped because they couldn't get it to work either.
