Depending on how #314 goes, we may be in a place where use of http:// URIs is being actively discouraged, at least for HTTP/2 and maybe overall.

This could be seen as a violation of our charter, and needs to be tracked. Possible resolutions include (but are not limited to):

  • Modifying our charter
  • Introducing opportunistic encryption for HTTP URIs (see HTTP:// URIs over TLS #315)
  • Implementing HTTP/2 in the clear in defined situations

As per #314 's resolution, this is not an issue.
