Render cycleway=track #827
Comments
It's worth noting that this map shows the cycle and bus lanes, including the side of the road that they are on: http://www.itoworld.com/map/246?lon=1.14565&lat=52.05316&zoom=13&fullscreen=true |
IMHO cycleway=track is a poor tagging scheme that should not be encouraged. Also, cycleway=track is not enough to properly render cycleway. |
It is impossible to render cycleway=track with importing additional data (side of cycleway, distance of cycleway from road). |
And as there is no documented tag to define distance of cycleway from road (and there should not be one - use separate highway=cycleway way for this level of detail) rendering cycleway=track is impossible. |
@mkoniecz I'd disagree with "impossible" (elsewhere people have used casing to indicate roads with sidewalks, for example) though it may still be "difficult within the current style" or "not something we want to do for political or other very valid" reasons. |
To expand: it is impossible to display at the same time cycleways tagged as highway=cycleway and cycleway=track using the same style. And on general purpose map it is unreasonable to display the same thing differently depending on used tagging scheme. For reference - map displaying both sidewalk=* and highway=footway: http://www.itoworld.com/map/126 |
Cycleway=track is currently not rendered.
