Getting math/latex to render in markdown/html documents

Hello, I am trying to get a simple test for latex in markdown files.

My test file:

This is test of

$x^2$ math

and block:

$$
x^3
$$

and ![asd](test.png)

The image rendering works as expected, but I cant get equations to render as expected.

the obvious candidate is: - WARNING Image rendering for latex is not available

but am unsure what to do about that.

I have mactex installed, can generate latex.

Inline tex equations render correctly in .tex documents:

Any help would be appreciated!

You don't have the latex parser installed. Will update health check to show a clearer message in this case.
