Index threshold alert flyout chart to be a bar chart? #67295
Comments
Pinging @elastic/kibana-alerting-services (Team:Alerting Services) |
Wondering if there are any other thoughts on how to create the bars. Naively, we could consider creating a bar at every interval. I think we show 30 intervals worth of time right now, so that would be 30 bars. We could change that to less or more intervals (I would guess less, like 20, might be more pleasing). |
Also could be worth highlighting the area that it would alert on, as done in #67684. |
The bar chart is great for discrete time components like the one here, but how do you display multiple instances? I think that stacked would not work because the per instance metric values don't add up. Here is a little intel from the competition, it refers to the equivalent of the alert details page and not the flyout but has good ideas to keep in mind more generally. |

There's been feedback that bar charts in the create alert flyout would make more sense for alerts that do buckets. You see the data points more easily when you have sparse data.
Some comments from @pmuellr where we can maybe keep the lines to indicate the threshold, some questions about top-N grouping, etc
