Describe the bug
On removing column for result table under ES|QL query on Timeline, Column selector starts Flickering.

Build Details

VERSION: 8.14.0
BUILD: 73762
COMMIT: 2a492e1625f24336f3259b2b8df62b2b18127e81

Browser Details
This issue is occurring on all browsers.

Preconditions

  1. Kibana v8.14.0 must be available.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to Security -> Timelines .
  2. Create new Timeline or Open any already available Timeline.
  3. Navigate to ES|QL tab.
  4. Under Query section, add a query and Run it.
  5. In result table under ES|QL query on Timeline, Hover mouse cursor on any Column Head.
  6. Click on ... for more option.
  7. Select Remove Column option.
  8. Observe that as soon as the column is removed form results table, Column selector starts Flickering.

Actual Result
On removing column for result table under ES|QL query on Timeline, Column selector starts Flickering.

Expected Result
On removing column for result table under ES|QL query on Timeline, Column selector Should not Flicker.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is a known issue, and I thought we had removed it... @logeekal shouldn't this option removed from the list? I remember us talking about it during one of your PR's review...

@PhilippeOberti , it is a known issue when we are implementing unified components in timeline but in 8.14 the discover is embedded as is and this issue is occuring there.

But if we go to discover directly, the issue is not happening.

Thanks for the update.

We have validated this ticket on latest kibana v8.14 BC build and found that issue is now fixed

Please find the below observations

Build Details

VERSION: 8.14.0
BUILD: 73836
COMMIT: 23ed1207772b3ae958cb05bc4cdbe39b83507707

Observations

  • No flickering on removing columns
Timelines.-.Kibana.-.Google.Chrome.2024-05-14.15-00-04.mp4

Hence, we are closing this ticket as QA Approved.
