In previous work we removed all default settings with the exception of default.path.data, default.path.logs, and default.path.conf. This issue is a tracking issue for two remaining items:

  • remove default.path.conf and add a command-line flag -c and --path.conf for specifying a custom configuration location (Remove path.conf setting #25392)
  • remove default.path.data and default.path.logs, and ship the RPM and Debian packages with default configuration files with path.data and path.logs configured (Remove default path settings #25408)
