It seems like it would be a niche thing, but I assume two tone Motorola style paging encoding is possible on the hardware. Just a way to transmit a configurable A and B tone at a ratio (user changeable?) of usually 1/3sec respectively. I don't think it would take up much space on the chip, but I haven't worked with constraints this tight before.
