Land parcels, historical building footprints extracted from historical maps and tree data extracted from aerial imagery using AI were mentioned so far as editable vector layers.

Importing tree data and allowing to contribute type of tree.

Main effort in implementing it is:

  • deciding whether such new editable objects and geometries should be stored with buildings or in a separate table(s). Or maybe all new layers should be in a separate extra table together?
  • implementing switch in data editing, selection, display etc so only currently selected editable layer is shown

thanks so much for your quick reply. There are 3 kinds of layer we want to integrate

  • a) image layers like old maps,
  • b) pre-coloured data layers using lines, points and large polygons e.g to show conservation areas, road networks, flood areas etc, and
  • c) layers of different kinds of polygons which can be individually coloured in.
  • d) in future 3D buildings too

There are at present 4 types of polygon we are looking at including- for trees, land parcels, current building footprints, and historical building footprints. European INSPIRE land parcel/land ownership polygons for example (which we use to collect, natural environment and land cover data) need to integrated now into the UI with the building footprints, so you to somehow toggle between them

any interest in co-working on this appreciated or just chatting
