In v1.20.0 (and on), media controls were added to the popup ui. Controls include basic media keys (play/pause, next, previous), Spotify's shuffle, save/unsave and repeat keys, and the custom block and seek fast-forward and rewind keys.
Additionally, in an inactive state (when there's no present Spotify tab open), a link will be present to open a Spotify tab. (The cutoff text is due to a scrolling effect on text that stretches past the boundaries of the popup ui.)
