the way Falko did it, 8.7 pointing to stable/8.7 branch is correct, as this is the branch 8.7 is maintained and released from. 8.8 respectively is on main now, but once released it will switch to stable/8.8. How do we make sure we don't forget to update the link at that point? 🙈
