How to change the repository name?

After changing the mount point, I want to rename the repository name. How can this be done?

You would add a new repo and then select that for the profile.

Repos can't be just renamed or moved, since Borg stores the path.

I've honestly never used the mount feature. I would assume you can select a new folder/mount point each time?

The mount point and repo location aren't related. You can mount a repo anywhere.

@Wikinaut In the first reply, m3nu already answered your question.
To rephrase it more explicitly:

• No, there is currently no way to change the repository name (via the GUI) in Vorta
• However, you can add a new repository - with a changed name and use the new repository instead of the old

I recommend exporting the setting of your repository, before adding the new repo - as a backup.

This actually opens a second way to change the name of the repository:

• Choose a profile and export the settings to a profilename.json file
• Open your profilename.json file in a text editor and change the name of the repository
• Re-import the changed settings:
  • To trigger an import on startup, rename your profilename.json file to .vorta-init.json and place the file in your home directory. During the next startup, Vorta will import and then delete this file.
  • Important: If the profile name already exists, this will replace tho existing profile.
  • Don't forget to delete your profilename.json file - it may contain the passphrase of your repo.
