Green bean weight

Is there a way to enter or change the green bean weight in Roast properties when I load a background roast profile?

I automatically overwrite the backgroundProfile.olog file in a few places:
'title': 'AEOLUS_Dark_Profile_220.alog',
'weight': [13.0, 0, 'Kg'],
'weightin': 13000.0,
(maybe I have missed some things that also need to be overwritten to change the weigh)

The title changes, but the weight and weightin always defaults back to the current Green Weight Roast Properties setting (7kg).

Maybe I have missed a setting or checkbox, or maybe there is another way to do this.

I used to be able to to do this a few versions back. I also changed the Operator name: 'operator': 'Bob',

Hard to understand what you are asking. Why should the batch size of the current roast change if you load a previous roast as background profile?

Its not a previous roast, its a background profile.

I open this file AEOLUS_Dark_Profile_224.alog and then overwrite and save as genericA1.alog file and then load that file as the background roast profile (clearBackground;loadBackground(//xxxxx/Artisan files/genericA1.alog)). My whole roast system is fully automated from the customer orders through to roasting and packing, the weight controls the loft setting for the fluid bed roaster.

I want the weight for the new roast without having to enter it manually as all the preceding steps and following steps are fully automated.
I hope this helps to clarify.

Not sure what a "loft setting" is.

Anyhow, Artisan is not taking the batch size from the background profile loaded. This would in many cases also disturbing. Note that one can load a background profile at any time, even if a profile is already loaded. This would change that profiles batch size.

In case no foreground profile is loaded this could be done. I need to check for potential conflicts like with the scheduler. Also if a user manually sets the intended batchsize before loading the background profile, (re-)setting the batchsize from that background profile is disturbing. Thus at least another flag is needed for this. Not sure we should go that way as Artisan has already too many confusing configurations....

Not sure what a "loft setting" is. Fluid bed roaster blower air speed to "loft the beans" if not set correctly for the weight of green beans loaded in the roaster then it collapses and burns the beans (among other things)

To simplify: Is there any way I can import a number/file into Artisan? Artisan can talk to my software (.bat/.txt/.csv file) My software can change any Artisan file that can can be imported like this: loadBackground(//xxxxx/Artisan files/genericA1.alog)

What about loadProperties() or loadWeight() ..... I will leave it at that, not my skill set!

Thank you so much for the weight flag and other stuff, haven't tried setBatchSize() yet, but the Profile weight works like a dream!!!

If you have loaded 3kg roast profile that you done yesterday to the foreground and then you load a 2kg profile into the background while this "Set batch size" flag is set, you don't want those 3kg to be overwritten by the 2kg. However, if no foreground profile is loaded while loading that background profile, taking those 2kg as batch size is fine.

Ok, got it, I always save, both but only ever open the PDF and view previous roasts, so not an issue for me, but good to know.
