Update conventions and styling

We have a bit of a mess right now, and there is no consistency. We should update the .editorconfig and enforce some additional rules. Also, we have different styling across the solution, somewhere we're this, and in other places _camelCase. I think not all the changes can be updated automatically, and there will be a lot of manual work too.
