When playing songs in the app, the audio volume is excessively high, causing distortion, especially in bass-heavy sections. Lowering the device volume does not resolve the issue, as the distortion appears to be caused by the track being played at an excessively high dB level within the player itself.
Without volume normalization: The audio is so loud that it causes significant distortion, particularly in bass frequencies. Since the problem originates within the app, adjusting the device volume does not improve the audio quality. With volume normalization: The distortion is eliminated, but the overall volume is considerably reduced, requiring the device volume to be set to a much higher level than usual for a comfortable listening experience.
To Reproduce
Play any song with prominent bass in the app.
Toggle the volume normalization switch on and off.
Observe the difference in sound quality and volume level.
Expected behavior
A balanced volume and consistent audio quality, without distortion in bass-heavy sections and without an excessive drop in volume when volume normalization is enabled.
Screenshots
Not applicable, as the issue is audio-related only.
Smartphone:
Device: Poco F3
OS: Android 13
Additional context
This issue only occurs within this specific app. Enabling volume normalization improves sound quality by preventing distortion, but it also significantly lowers the volume, making it difficult to reach an adequate listening level.
