I'm trying to update the blog post or archive page. Currently, the title is set to Recent Posts and then it displays a list of all the recent posts.

However, I can't find a way to customize the page title, add a sidebar, etc.

A site developer should be able to customize the page title, customize the sidebars, etc.

Added PR with the ability to set Home Page and Archive Page title. And also control the display of sidebar on archive page separately.

@designerbrent
Is it enough or there are more configurable values should be added?

Users should be able to do the following:

  • User should be able to set a custom homepage title (replacing Recent Posts).
  • User should be able to disable the homepage sidebar.
  • User should be able to set an archive page title from the custom Post page title.
  • User should be able to see the header area of the custom Post page page from that page.
  • User should be able to set a custom Header Banner on the custom Post page page.
  • User should be able to set a custom Hero on the custom Post page page.
  • User should be able to hide the sidebar of the custom Post page page from that page.
  • User should be able to set a custom archives page title from the theme settings, using the Settings > Reading > Post page setting.
  • User should be able to hide the sidebar on the custom Post page page from the theme settings.
  • The global category sidebar setting should NOT overwrite the custom page setting.
