In IOS there is not enough top clearance for the status bar

top icons like save and menu are getting somewhat covered by IOS UI

Can't replicate.
I am on iOS 9.3.5

If its happening for you suddenly, please try rolling back your git repo (if I recall both of you are setup building from source) to a version that worked and do a diff, since I can't really solve this given I can't see the problem.

Also, please check if this problem is only happening if you are building from source.
If it is, its likely related to a different ionic version you may be using.
