My apologies for the late announcement.
Development on CRSF for Arduino is being postponed on 31 July, 2023 at 1600 Hrs (4:00 pm) NZST.
I am doing this because I am aware of an official CRSF repository currently being planned. I have known about this since February, & I should have told you guys sooner, rather than later. As I have said: I apologise for the late announcement.
When the official CRSF repository is made & goes live, I will resume development of CRSF for Arduino.
I cannot give you an exact date on when this repository goes live, because it is out of my hands & the people that are able to make the repository are being vague on the details. If you feel the need to pester someone about it, make some noise in this post.
At this time, there are no resources for the CRSF protocol (that I am aware of) other than looking to places like BetaFlight, RotorFlight, ExpressLRS etc. that have already implemented the protocol & me somehow adapting the source code from all of that to my project. Despite the fact that doing it this way has gotten me this far, it is far from ideal. Because I still don't have all of the information that I require in order to fully understand the CRSF protocol, let alone continue developing CRSF for Arduino.
Having an official CRSF repository hosted right here on GitHub will grant me access to the correct information that is required to continue developing CRSF for Arduino. It will give me a better understanding of the protocol itself, how to implement it (including telemetry & the myriad of other features CRSF has), the hardware limitations (aside of what I have already discovered - which some of you ignore & complain about "strange behaviour" in my Issues tab. No, I have not let that one go, & I will more than likely carry that one to my grave), & it will widen my palette of evidence-based judgements with CRSF for Arduino.
This is not "goodbye". This is "see you later".
CRSF for Arduino is not going away. CRSF for Arduino is here to stay. =^/.~=
PS: I want to at least get GPS Telemetry up & running before CRSF for Arduino's postponement at the end of July. I am prioritising GPS because I am aware of Remote ID, plus I have discovered that the good folks over at ExpressLRS are working on something very interesting that I would love to get my paws on & try out for myself.
