Issue migrated from trac ticket # 2501

component: platforms | priority: major | resolution: worksforme

The python2 packages are being removed: Python 2 purge - Round 1.
We may want to keep some of those around to be able to make new Python 2 builds, ie: python-ifaddr? According to r23505, it is needed by python-zeroconf.

We also have to keep track of things like these: pango breaking pygtk and other packages: seems recent pango removed bitmap support and private headers causing applications such as pygtk to fail building
We'll either have to pin some packages, or snapshot and upgrade by hand from then on. Not sure what is easiest.

I have taken a snapshot of the python2 packages.

From now on, we may have to revert to using pip / easy_install to upgrade them.
