I saw that TengerTechnologies put out some new scripts with features he’s added to OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer—figured you’re probably already aware, but I wanted to express how useful I think these features could be anyway. I believe they have significant potential and, with refinement, could be strong candidates for integration into the official version of OrcaSlicer.
I know there’s already work being done on staggered layers, which is awesome, but I haven’t seen much on variable layer heights for inner and outer walls. In my opinion, the ability to assign different layer heights to inner and outer walls could be a major advancement in achieving higher-resolution prints more efficiently. Additionally, extending this concept to infill could further optimize print speed and quality—unless that’s already possible and I just don’t know (I’m still learning, so totally possible I missed something).
Just wanted to share my thoughts and see what you think. Appreciate all the work that goes into this, and I’m excited to see where OrcaSlicer goes next!
