I've installed Rocketchat and I access it inside a folder (mydomain.com/rocketchat) and I've noticed a couple of things that are not okay.
The image url is: https://mydomain.com/rocketchat/rocketchat/avatar/facundo?_dc=0 (Notice double rocketchat).
https://mydomain.com/rocketchat/rocketchat/avatar/facundo?_dc=0
It's trying to get https://mydomain.com/api/apps/languages
https://mydomain.com/api/apps/languages

Second, are you using a proxy? Most likely your issues are to do with your setup, and in particular poorly configured proxy servers
There used to be issues with running in a sub directory but they should have been fixed a while back. But please search the issues just in case.
