bug(YouTube): Watch history is not being saving warning

Bug description

I patched my YouTube with revanced manager, but when I try to use the YouTube it shows me pop up saying search history not being saved. This may be caused by a DNS or proxy.

I don't have any DNS or proxy enabled I don't know what it is talking about. Any help?

Does the page look exactly like this?

Then the warning shown in YouTube is correct. The site is unreachable, and your watch history likely is not being saved.

If you are not using a DNS ad blocker or vpn, then something else is causing the connection failure.

If you want to live with the issue then press "do not show again" to the ReVanced prompt.

Maybe using Private DNS in Android Settings , DNS in your internet router, or even blocked by carrier.

I used cloudfare DNS (1.1.1.1), nextdns, I even tried automatic and off option but it doesn't work. I use a airtel Sim (Indian). Any way for a fix?

1. Uninstall YT ReVanced
2. Reset DNS to default or off it (or even reset your Phone's Settings by delete it's data). Reboot phone.
3. Patch again with fresh YT apk with default patches. Install it and see.

I did everything you said. Even reset the phone, install a freshly patched yt but i still get the same error. What do I do?

It may be blocked by your internet provider. Ask them for help.

I'm closing this because it's not an issue with ReVanced and the patch correctly detected the problem.

Is the watch history working in patched YouTube?

If watch history is working then the only explanation is your country or ISP uses a different server for the watch history (and somehow s.youtube.com is blacklisted and blocked). Press ignore on the warning prompt.

Hey, I have tried another ISP (BSNL in another phone) it too shows s.youtube.com as no server has been found, but the revanced youtube history works.

Also,
when i turn on my hotspot (airtel from phone) and connect it to another phone and use revanced my history is being saved.

It's unclear why your watch history works even though s.youtube.com fails to resolve.

If ReVanced watch history works then press "do not show again" to the warning.

It works in another phone with same ISP and s.youtube.com not working but shows the history works.

Can it be a ROM related problem? Linageos?

Official LineageOS shouldn't affected.
The issue could be from UNOFFICIAL LineageOS with custom hosts which is included s.youtube.com in the line.
Mostly custom hosts file taken from StevenBlack blocker which is included s.youtube.com by default in their hosts file.

It shows an error but the page loads with a 404 error (which is correct and expected).

This is what "not working" looks like:

There is no 404 error, and the connection failed entirely.

It is possible your custom ROM is acting up. It's still weird that watch history works.

@DarkHuman2009 I think you're wasting too much time here. Watch history works, which is all that matters. Press ignore on the warning message and move on with life.

Brother, The history doesnt work on my main phone showing the PIC i uploaded.
But same SIM inserted in another phone, Revanced works (IN OTHER PHONE).
My main phone (which has LinageOS) watch history doesnt work! even if i chage the network.
ISP is not the problem. Its either with Revaned Patch or with LinageOS.

The issue must be with your Lineage OS install.

Revanced does not do anything that can interfere with watch history.

The screenshot you posted with ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED shows the issue is something with your phone, because that site should show 404 message.

Hey, just a final message, I tried RVX Manager and patched youtube to youtube extended and it works without any problem.
Maybe its the problem with Revanced and its patched youtube?

RVX replaces s.youtube.com with a different domain which gets around the issue, but the issue still exists when using YouTube everywhere else (web, unpatched app).
