Yes, they are gone, mostly because we did not have a good way of building them. Rare since the last major release uses PySide6, and from my search around Ubuntu repositories, that is only included in the latest Ubuntu version. Also, our deb package was built using the MPR repository, which lacked some needed libraries. I am not a user of any deb based distros, so I do not know their packaging systems and ecosystems in general well enough to figure out packaging myself, so I opted for removing it instead of providing a broken package. On the other hand the AppImage works properly now.
I am open to figuring out how to build the deb package again if someone can contribute it.
Not sure if this is relevant, but on Arch Linux we do have appimage that is directly installable from the AUR..
So I'm wondering would it be possible to create a deb package directly from the appimage itself??
