EDI

EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) is a code system for the reimbursement or claim data in South Korea. EDI maps to standard reference terminologies such as SNOMED CT, LOINC, and RxNorm. EDI updates the dictionary on a monthly basis.

Domains

The EDI concepts have separate vocabularies for drugs, devices, and medical services. These three domains have no unified system in the EDI vocabulary. A complete list of valid EDI codes in each of these three domains is independently released with a description every month.

Medical services is too broad for the OHDSI Standard Vocabularies, so we subcalssified into procedure and measurement to match the OHDSI domains. Since the three domains are independent, there might be cases where EDI codes overlapped. In such instances, we typically prioritize procedures and measurements for loading.
