Can't use yarn pkg on Mojave/XCode10

Issue description

Trying to use the yarn pkg fails to compile node 8.x because this fix nodejs/node-gyp#1454 seemingly hasn't been backported yet.

Steps to reproduce

Install nix-env -i yarn in the newest Mojave with XCode10.

nodejs and yarn build fine from what I can tell, could you post the error.

The trick seems to be override with nodejs 10 or 11 #53820 (comment). I got it working with nodejs-11_x. This way you'll get a binary substitute from the cache too 😀. e.g.

nix-shell -p '(yarn.override { nodejs = nodejs-11_x; })'

Probably nixpkgs should be updated to use a later version of nodejs than 8 by default — something more likely to be in the binary cache. Recently, I tried nix-shell -p yarn and nodejs-8_x failed to be found and also failed to compile. Today, (after updating my channel a few times in the meantime, unfortunately), nix-shell -p yarn seems to be compiling yarn without error so far (but I probably can't wait for this to finish on my machine).
