The existing implementation only allows to run land component internally through the used of CCPP/physics. To allow interaction with the external land component FV3 and its coupling interface need to be extended.
Solution
Make required changes in the coupling interface as well as CCPP/physics to allow interaction with the external land component.

The existing implementation is tested under UFS Weather Model on NCAR2s Cheyenne platform using both GNU and INTEL compilers.
Have you run regression test in ufs-weather-model or ufs-s2s-model with code changes? Yes
