Just updated to version 18.8 and windows defender identifies it as the virus Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml this seems to always trigger when you use the download images in the settings menu

It's a false positive.
I have no proof of it and I have nothing to convince you.

====================================================

Here is some information if you would like to know why:
Homebrew software tends to get flagged as a virus, trojan, or "Malicious" because they have not been digitally signed.
You can search "wacatac.b ml false positive" in google for some results like the following:

  1. Overly eager heuristics for Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml ?
  2. Visual Studio C script detected as Trojan virus
  3. C# Program False Positive Virus Detection

====================================================

Here is what you can try:

  1. Make sure your Windows Defender is up to date. It is possible that the false positive has already been addressed in the new Definition.
    def

  2. If you have the time, try to submit the false positive report yourself at : Here

  3. Probably the easiest way for most end-user, add the program to a whitelist or "Allowed threats".
    But this requires you to trust the program to be virus-free and believe the threat is indeed a false positive. The decision is yours.
