just some nice visualization effects that would be cool to see happen in the Sky!

Comets would be hard, but other two features would be implemented.

Just do short-period comets.

Still, that one is hard..

Even with comets with as short of orbits as this one?

Thise comets have another type of orbit due to high eccentricity.

I remember that there was a mod called night sky+ that added comets I think. I understand they might be hard. The mod dynamic surroundings has the auroa Boreils, so maybe if you talked to Ore cruncher, the mod developer. There might be a way to add comets based off the way he added the auroas

Comets are actual orbiting bodies, with predictable and calculable paths, not random occurrences or events. If Abastro decides to add them he will do it in a way that is scientifically accurate, and not just "effects".

Ok that's still good. I think comets would be awesome no Matter how there implemented

Are you sure you're not thinking "Meteorites"? A comet would appear as a tiny smudge on the sky, that really wouldn't move that much over the course of a few hundred days.

Maybe I was. But I think comets would still be interesting

apologies for popping this here but I didn't want to make a new issue and it is related.
I'd really like to add satellites. I can see from the existing Json files that I could add my own celestial objects, but the examples all seem to be for so-called fixed stars. I definitely don't need eccentricity for this (perihelion and aphelion would be hard, rendering it would be even harder, and you just know someone's going to say "Can I make them impact a planet?" xD). But satellites may already be possible. Is there a field (or fields) for orbital motion?
