I installed MidnightBSD on wyse3040, but when I started it on a USB drive, it stopped.
atkbdc0: non-PNP ISA device will be removed from GENERIC in MidnightBSD 5.

Try this:

interrupt the bootloader, get the bootloader command line
type set hint.uart.1.disabled=”1”, and then type boot

To make this change permanent, open /boot/device.hints and remove all of the lines that mention hint.uart.1
