Turn off WiFi, with the modem connected, follow the link (Link accesses the modem on its default IP)

Connect the modem in Windows. Install ZTEDrvSetup.exe - the driver for the ZTE modem in Windows.

Insert a SIM card that is not supported into the modem. Enable dccrap.exe:
- Select ZTE data...
Click on the magnifying glass to find the device
- Click Unlocking -> Unlock

After unlocking the modem, switch back to Mac OS. Now it can be used with any SIM.
