Academic supports endnotes on pages (including blog posts) with the [^1] syntax. Has anyone experimented with a way to also add citations in a references section on the post? Note that this is different from the publications section of Academic's features.
With citations there are generally two parts to a citation the inline portion (Robins 2018) and the portion which would get added to the references section of a paper Robins, Jerod. 2018. Sparkles in the sky. Journal of fictitious literature. 27(2): 12-25. .
With a short code I can clearly see how to add either of these in one of the two places. But how does one create a short code which adds content in two places?

I also wonder if there have been any updates since #508 was closed (cf. #508 (comment)). So far it's footnotes and manual generation of references for me.
