Is it possible for the extension page to match the Chrome theme color?

Chrome allows customizing theme colors. I hope the extension's page can match Chrome's theme color. Is there currently an API that provides this capability?

Chrome's default new-tab page seems to be able to load CSS variables through chrome://theme/colors.css?sets=ui,chrome, but this does not work in custom extensions.

Hi @daidr - I hope you're well. We don't have an API for this currently, but there is some prior discussion in w3c/webextensions#680. I'm going to close this one since it isn't a sample issue but would love to provide a capability for this eventually :)
